DockLoom for macOS

Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how DockLoom ("DockLoom," "the app," "we," or "our") handles information when you use the macOS application. It applies to the current Mac App Store version of DockLoom.

1. Information DockLoom processes

DockLoom processes only the local information needed to create and open your shortcuts and remember your settings:

DockLoom does not read or index unrelated files on your Mac. It accesses a shortcut target when needed to display its system icon, reveal it in Finder, or open it at your request.

2. Local storage and file access

Shortcut data and app preferences are stored locally on your Mac using Apple platform storage. DockLoom saves read-only security-scoped bookmarks for targets you explicitly add so that macOS can authorize access after the app relaunches.

Customizing or removing a DockLoom shortcut changes DockLoom’s local shortcut data only. It does not rename, move, modify, or delete the original app, file, folder, script, or HTML target.

3. Data collection and sharing

4. Network access and third parties

DockLoom’s launcher features do not require an internet connection. The app does not upload your shortcut list, local paths, file contents, or preferences to us or to a third-party service. It does not include third-party analytics, advertising, tracking, cloud-storage, or AI services.

When DockLoom opens a target, macOS hands that target to its associated application. Any network activity performed by the target or its associated application is outside DockLoom and is governed by that application’s own terms and privacy policy.

5. Data retention and deletion

Because DockLoom does not receive your data, we do not retain a server-side copy and cannot access, recover, or delete your shortcut configuration for you. Local shortcut data remains on your Mac until you remove shortcuts or remove the app’s stored data. Removing the app may not, by itself, remove every preference file maintained by macOS.

6. Security

DockLoom uses macOS sandbox permissions and security-scoped bookmarks to access only targets you choose. Keeping configuration data local reduces exposure to online services, but no local storage method can guarantee absolute security. You are responsible for protecting access to your Mac and maintaining backups appropriate for your needs.

7. Children’s privacy

DockLoom does not knowingly collect personal information from children or from any other user. The app does not require an account and does not transmit shortcut information to the developer.

8. Changes to this policy

If DockLoom’s data practices or features change, this policy will be updated before or when the change takes effect. The effective date at the top of this page identifies the current version.

9. Contact

For privacy questions about DockLoom, please use the developer contact information available from the DockLoom listing on the Mac App Store. Please do not include private local paths or file contents in a support request.
